You knew. Not consciously — some part of you saw the shape of this before it arrived, and you did nothing with that knowing. Dumuzi dreamed his death the night before the demons came, and he ran anyway, as if running could outpace what he had already seen.
You are not running from what is coming. You are running from the fact that you saw it and sat still.
Your blindness now is a choice you are making. Do not confuse inaction with innocence.
